Gap fee
Effective 5 September 2023, there could be an out-of-pocket expense for consults with Dr Sharmila Kumar. The exceptions are listed below:
- Age <16 years
- Chronic disease management Plan
- Health assessment
- Reviews of mental health plan
- Only standard appointment is available for Telehealth
- Valid Concession Cards Holders:
- Pension Concession Card
- Health Care Card
- Commonwealth Senior Health Care Card
- Department of Veteran Affairs Card
*Only standard Telehealth appointment is available for bulk billed patients

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
*Please note that the payment in full will be taken and the patient will receive the reimbursement from Medicare usually in 1-2 days.
* Payment will be taken on phone by Reception at the beginning of Telehealth consultation.
*After your consult, a proportionate amount of the fee can be claimed back immediately from Medicare.
All consulting GPs and Allied Health Professionals in a commercial agreement with Waitara Family Medical Practice operate their own medical business.
Private Patients
GP Fees
Consultation fee from $90-$150 . The GP decides based on the time and work involved.
New patients can do telehealth by paying private patient fee of $90.
Other services – fees
Fees are dependent on the type of service. Some services can be bulk billed and some receive a rebate direct from Medicare or your insurer.
For Allied services, ECG and other services, please check with reception before making the appointment.
At Waitara Family Medical Practice, we are able to complete Medicare rebates.
Each doctor is able to determine their own fees and you will be informed at the time of consultation. You will be expected to pay your account on the day of the service.
All allied health services are contracted and these providers determine their own fees. Please check with the provider about their fees. These fees need to be paid for on the day of the service.
Patients without a full current Medicare card cannot be bulk billed.
